Issue 36
9th November 2011
The ILR data return R04 is due to be submitted by 6 December. This is the key return in the 2012/13 allocations round in relation to learner number data for 2011/12.
This return will be used, in conjunction with information from 2010/11 on the profile of recruitment throughout the year, to determine the lagged learner numbers which will be a key element of the 2012/13 allocation.
As 2011/12 is a year of considerable change following the introduction of the single ILR, we strongly recommend you make early data returns to familiarise yourself with the new returns. This will help reduce the risk of significant data errors. Many of you will have already submitted data in the R03 return.
We will all need to pay particular attention to the quality of the data returned through R04 because of the level of change which has taken place this year. As in 2011/12, if there are significant issues with data submitted in the return, we will consider business cases to resolve any problems affecting lagged learner numbers.
